Column Performance

The ACE Glass Michel-Miller column is designed so that the sample injected maintains a narrow band width and the peak shape is not distorted. At RT Scientific we have developed a special way to pack the Michel-Miller columns to take full advantage of their design. This process gives a consistent even and tight packing of our columns.

Separation Example

Sample: 1.51g of sample was dissolved in 20% ethyl acetate/hexanes, which consisted of 2-Chloro-5-nitropyridine (128.6 mg), 2,3-Dimethoxybenzaldehyde (578.6 mg) and 3,4-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (803.6 mg). Rf values were 0.57, 0.47 and 0.25 for the respective compounds. TLC was performed in 20% ethyl acetate/80% hexanes. Separated with a linear gradient of 3% ethyl acetate/97% hexanes to 20% ethyl acetate/80% hexanes over a period of 35 minutes. Fractions of 40 ml were collected.
